Mel Karade Rabba (as expected) has taken earth shattering start wherever it has released.

The Punjabi mega film which has released with two biggies, Lamhaa & Inception (add to that smaller but multiplex friendly releases Udaan & Tere Bin Laden) has taken the highest per screen average in India & Australia.

The weekend box office collections from three major nations where the film released is as follows:

India - 1 Crore from just 45 cinemas. (Highest Per-Screen average)

Australia - $163,227 from just 7 Cinemas. (Highest Per-Screen average) (Updated after final collections)

Canada - $170,535 from just 10 Cinemas. (Highest Per-Screen average)

UK - £33,995 from just 10 Cinemas

USA (4 Cinemas) & New Zealand collection still to come in, which could be roughly $55000.

The total weekend Collection for Mel Karade Rabba from 72 Cinemas around the world is 2,80,38,573 (Rs 2 Crore, 80 lac plus)

On a production budget of 2.5 Crores plus 1 crore on marketing & promotions, this looks as the biggest Punjabi Blockbuster of all time.

Most multiplexes in Punjab gave the film 5-6 shows in a day and look set to double that in the second week. We are sure that had the film released on more screens/shows, the collections would have been double.

Our team talked to various multiplex, single screen owners in India, Australia & Canada and came to know that the film has had every show houseful since First show of Friday to last show of Sunday.
